Baby Friday- Week 15

Sorry for the blurry pic...lots of excitement these days for photos.
Sorry for the blurry pic…lots of excitement these days for photos.

This week has definitely been a whirlwind, and I think everyone is adjusting to the idea of having a little girl around here. Well sort of, I bought tiny pink shoes but they’re still in the bag on the counter….so I’m not sure what that says about my level of acceptance. This week has mainly been focused on Mason’s first day of pre-school! Such a crazy day, that kid is having the time of his life, and I was of course a sobbing mess ( I did wait until the parking lot to lose it, so that’s a win in my book). We’re struggling a little bit with potty training, but I think there’s just a lot going on for him. Plus the force is strong with this one. When he decides he wants to play with his toys and pee on the floor, that’s what is going to happen. So lots of changes for everyone and overall we’re all managing them decently well. At least I think . 🙂

My mom has been in Phoenix for the last 10 days helping to take care of my newest nephew for my brother and sister while she transitions back to work, which has been awesome for them, and so wonderful for my mom to spend so much time with them,  as well as annoying for us. We need Mama Phelan here! Although it has given me a taste of what life would be like anytime I get sick of housing prices in San Diego and threaten to move to some godforsaken town where we could have two houses. Yeah, that’s not happening.  I might make my dad add on a second story to their house for us before its all said and done, not sure about those details yet, but we’ll have to work something out so we can stay close. 🙂

I can’t say enough about how obsessed I am with the Tracey Anderson preggo exercise DVD’s. Its definitely not cardio, but it’s been so awesome for my arms and legs and I don’t get dizzy and almost pass out when I do it, so that’s a major bonus. I have some low blood pressure issues not pregnant, and moving from floor to standing quickly is tough for me, and doing it pregnant is just a mess. So this video is great!!! I’m still just trying to fit it into our schedule, since Mason thinks I’m just a jungle gym for him if I’m exercising and he gets dangerously close to kicked in the face every time I try to do it with him awake. Work in progress.

Week: 15
Date: 8/22/14

How big is baby? A Hass avocado. Not one of those measly ones that goes on sale…the big mamas.

Pregnancy symptoms? Still hot. Still cranky.

Cravings? Giant hamburgers from Islands with those cheese fries. Which I haven’t gotten because Josh goes to Islands “all the time” because there is one right by his work and he is “over it”. Rude.

Aversions? I’ve been forcing myself to eat eggs this week. I just feel like I know they’re good for me and a good protein option and I need more variety first thing. Raw chicken is still a no-go, although I’ve been eyeballing some Asian style chicken marinades that I’m considering attempting next week. Maybe with my eyes closed? Or maybe Mase can just dump it all in the crockpot for me. 🙂

Best moment this week? Picking up Mase from pre-school and hearing “Mommy! You came back!!!”

What are you looking forward to next week? My mom being home. Also going to Phoenix for Labor Day weekend! It’s been 3 months and we have lots of family to see and a new baby cousin to kiss!

What emotions have you been experiencing this week? Thankfully less crying than last week. Only on the first day of school was it a problem.

Are you wearing maternity clothes? No but my favorite jeans officially need the rubber band on the button.

Any stretch marks? Not yet.

How much weight have you gained? Waiting for my next doctor’s appointment to find out. 🙂

Belly button in or out? In

Felt anything? Sometimes if I have pee really bad (so always) I feel some flutters. Maybe.

Know gender? Totally a girl.

Names? I like Scarlet, but Josh is on the fence because he “doesn’t know anyone named Scarlet”.  But he’s tricky, because if he does know someone with a name I like, its out too. For example, I suggested Georgia, and he refused because his Aunt is named Georgia May, and although I’ve only ever heard her called “Aunt May” in the 7 years I’ve known him, apparently that’s enough for a no. We’ll figure it out, I might just name her Knox since that was my boy name. 🙂

What baby project are you working on? Obsessed with getting a Silhouette Cameo so I can craft. For everything, but especially for the baby.

Any guesses on when you’ll go into labor? I had a dream last night I went into labor 4 weeks early and she was healthy and normal sized and I was happy. Hopefully that’s a prophetic dream.
